The Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act 2018 comes into force on 20 March 2019.
Any property let by a landlord must be fit for human habitation otherwise landlords face prosecution.
It is now illegal to rent out a property which has an EPC rating of F or G.
The regulations apply to new lets and renewals of tenancies, and will apply to all existing tenancies on 1st April 2020.
